As a freshman at Binghamton University, I was amazed at the many opportunities the school provides for students to grow in their Jewish identity. Now, four years later, I am in awe of all the new developments that have taken place and that are in the works.
The Chabad House stands out as a place that I have constantly turned to when I wanted a place to learn, someone to talk with or ask for guidance, and of course home-cooked kosher food. It has always been a place where I can rejuvenate myself, where I can remind myself of how lucky I feel to be Jewish and of the G-dliness in every person.
The Chabad House has kept the Jewish community alive at Binghamton University and has been a source of strength and inspiration for me and so many others I have met here. They have helped me feel like part of a Jewish community and more connected to Jews worldwide.
Now that I am graduating I will have to find my own community, but Chabad has given me the tools to define my own life as a Jew and continue growing in my Jewish identity.
