You would think that after four years I would know how to say goodbye to Chabad, but I am really just stunned as to how fast the time has passed. When I first came to Binghamton University I was really amazed at the thriving Jewish Community that existed through Chabad. Chabad has the appeal of a home away from home; a place where you will always be welcomed with open arms and friendly faces, no matter how long you've been away. Chabad has supplied me with a fantastic support group of friends, whom have ultimately become my family here at Binghamton. One of my fondest memories from Chabad took place during the Women's Cabaret my freshman year.
Somehow, I wound up playing the part of a little girl, wearing pajamas and pigtails in my hair. Needless to say there were lots of photographers and my picture wound up on the bulletin board in the entrance way of Chabad for the rest of the year! It is these sort of fun, humorous memories that I will take away with me. Chabad extends an arm past the religious aspect of Judaism and invites you to become involved socially as well. Despite everything, there has always been Chabad. Chabad has been a place to support Judaism as a whole: Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, one is always welcome and accepted without question. Chabad will always be a special part of my time at Binghamton, and I wish everyone the best of luck in the future.
