When I first came to Binghamton, I knew that there was a large and unique Jewish community, but what I experienced was much different than any of my expectations. I remember going to Chabad my first Friday night up at school, when I first walked in I was totally overwhelmed by the amount of people. But after spending just a few moments there I knew that Chabad was going to become an important part of my life for the next few years. Everyone at Chabad seemed to always go out of their way to make sure that there was enough room and seats for everyone. It always made me feel like I was at home there.

As the next few years passed by, the sense of community and friendships established at Chabad continued to build. I always felt that I had a place to go, in order to identify myself as a Jewish student. I know that whatever the future brings, I will always be able to look back at various Purim Carnivals, Friday night dinners, Shabbat 1000's and remember them as being a special and meaningful part of my college experience.
