Adam Farkas Judaic Studies Major I will, G-d willing, be moving to Israel next year with my future wife, Tamar. I will be attending Sackler medical school and I will sorely miss this oasis of light and warmth that I have been so privileged to be a part of. Do not be afraid of your past. The raven cloaks and ancient hymns Braided dough and gleaming candelabras- remnants of a glorious history Awaken the slumbering knight of antiquity Rise to his beckoning call Greet him with joy and fervor he has not forsaken you But he entreats you to bare your sanctuary So that he may radiate the warmth and delight of supernal encounters These hallowed walls are a citadel of chastity they are a shield and refuge from the torrent The sullied pages and saintly hosts. Hold them near for they speak in the voice of your grandmother These walls are your bond to an eternal engagement A timeless past and a redeemed future forget them not They are your lifeline. |
