Our fearless and stalwart driver, Ofir, continues taking us from place to place.
Alan Blesky made sure to say the morning prayers in Tefillin while on the bus.
We are on our way to the heights of the Golan. See the little yellow signs? They say "Danger: Minefield" because the Syrians spread thousands of mines so Israel would have trouble for years to come.
As we rose in altitude, we saw increasing amounts of snow on the ground and on peaks.
That's Benny and Rachel Epstein enjoying the scenery.
Jessica Aaron sat up front in the co-pilot's seat.
Another snow-covered mountain, but nothing like our destination.....
... where there was pretty deep snow, and a wonderful view!!
So we got off the bus,
posed for some pics (that's Chris and Corey, and no, they are not holding hands),
and Avi Farago got to put his new snowsuit to the test!!! Behind him, Clemete looks off into Syria.
Chris tried to "sled" down the hill,
.... which may have prompted the UN officials to leave.
Wow!! We arrived on this mountaintop (what was it called?!?!) where there was a bunker and lookout. We were lucky enough to watch a film being made, but that meant we only had a short time to learn about the place. That's the filmers on the right, and the actors on the left. They were digging a hole.
Two more actors were haning around the bunkers. The sandbags are there for the movie, and so is the torn Israeli flag. It is set in the 60's or 70's, when there was action around this border.
We finally got a chance to explore a bit on our own, and hear about the history of this place.
