Day Seven... we depart Jerusalem in the morning... it is cloudy and foggy. These pics are a "panorama" left to right of our last view of Jerualem from a lookout area.
Here's the center view.... smack in the center is the Temple Mount.
... And the view to the right.
Yael played "Jerusalem of Gold - Yerushalayim shel Zahav" up here, and Era told a story of a battle that took place on this spot about a single soldier who sacrificed his life taking out an Arab tank and troops that were dug in a UN building's backyard.
As we were pulling out, a hint of sunlight hit the far side of Jerusalem (see circle). Within a half hour, it was bright and sunny, but we were on the highway by then....
At a gas station, Ben Altman chowed down on a stuffed pita and (I think) some chocolate-milk-in-a-bag.
We must've been there for 45 minutes, cuz everyone got in line to buy lunch and ice cream. And to gawk at the over-seven-foot-tall guy.
Driving up north, the sun was out the whole time as we passed mountain ranges, reservoirs, ...
... bright green grassy fields.
Who ever said Israel was a desert??
