Our third day started with a talk by Mrs. Leisha Rose, a holocaust survivor. She didn't just survive - she risked her life many times to help save others, too.
Here is Mrs. Rose, telling part of her story. She stood the entire time, and spoke in a loud, clear voice. Because we were running late and on a tight schedule, she had to cut it short. But her book was for sale for anyone interested in knowing the rest.
It was cold and rainy when we went to the Holocaust Museum - Yad Vashem. This large memorial room has a flame burning in memory of all those who perished in the concentration camps listed on the floor.
Part of our group went along with Yael our tour guide as she pointed out the main points in the history of the Holocaust and the anti-semitism that led up to it.
Towards the end of the history tour is this large picture of young Jews still wearing their concentration camp "pajamas", but looking forward to their journey to their homeland - Israel.
This is part of the entrance to the Children's Memorial. The unfinished sculptures above symbolize the young lives cut short, unable to fulfill their potential.
