Wine and Cheese Reception for Class of 2007
On Wed. May 16 Chabad House held an elegant wine and cheese reception for the graduating class of 2007. After socializing and enjoying the spread, the graduates were addressed by Dr. Roger Summers, VP for Student Affairs at BU who offered his best wishes to the graduates on behalf of himself and the university administration. Summers urged the graduates to remember that no matter where life takes them the most important thing is to make a difference in people's lives. Susan Walker, local Jewish community leader and member of the board of trustees of Chabad House spoke to the graduates - "tomorrow's leaders" - from her personal experience about the importance of staying involved in the Jewish community, contributing and taking a leadership role. The graduates especially enjoyed a slide presentation of pictures taken of them at Chabad events spanning their college career. The evening concluded with special presentations to all the graduates and special awards presented to Melissa Mayers, who received the Emor M'at V'aseh Harbeh Award, and Baruch Spier, who received the Rebbetzin Miriam Gurary Chesed Award.
