9/11 Commemoration Ceremony

To mark the Fifth anniversary of 9/11, a moving Commemorative Ceremony was
held in the University's Memorial Courtyard. Greetings were extended by
University President Lois B. DeFleur and Michael Schiffman, SA President.
Guest speaker, Chaplain Jacob Goldstein, the Senior Chaplain for all
components and branches of the military assigned to the World Trade Center
for five months, spoke of his own experiences when he was deployed on Sept.
11 and in the months that followed. He spoke of the devastation he
witnessed but also of the heroism he saw and the resilience and majesty of
the human spirit. Rivkah Slonim chaired the event and urged those in
attendance to take heart, go forward and make this world a better place,
one good deed at a time.
