Senior Farewell Reception |
|
|
 |
On Wednesday, May 11, Chabad House hosted
a Wine and Cheese farewell reception for graduating seniors. The event gave
seniors a chance to socialize in an elegant but relaxed atmosphere after
all of their tests and work were finished with. It also provided Chabad
House with an opportunity to share an intimate moment with just the graduates
before the hustle and bustle of graduating weekend. The theme of the evening
was looking towards the future; Michael Wright, Dr. Rodger Summers, Rivky
and Rabbi Aaron Slonim spoke with the students about the importance of their
taking leading roles in their future Jewish communities, a slide show featuring
pictures of the graduates at various Chabad events over their college careers
was shown ,and each graduate accepted a gift and a special presentation
from Chabad House. The senior class also presented a farewell gift to the
Chabad House which will be used to install wireless Internet access, and
purchase work stations at which students can use their lap tops in the Chabad
library.
A few days later, over graduation weekend, hundreds of family members and
the graduates packed the Chabad House for Shabbat services and dinner on
Friday night, services and lunch on Shabbat and a final farewell open-house
brunch on Sunday. With that, the graduates of 2005 joined the ranks of Chabad
House alumni. |
